A Year Ago, I Hit “Go Live.” Here’s What Happened Next.
One year ago, on November 1st, I opened a virtual book launch party, sponsored by the Los Angeles Tribune, and hoped The Power of Magical Women would find its readers.
More than 25 of the magicians featured in the book joined us that night, the women whose stories fill its pages, there to celebrate with readers. Working magicians, unable to attend, sent videos, others participated live in panels dedicated to history, writing, performance and more.
It was the first sign that this book was something special. A year later, it has found far more readers and favorable reviews than I imagined.

A Year on Stage
In December 2025, the book-signing talks sold out at three legendary venues: the Magic Castle in Hollywood, the American Museum of Magic, and the Chicago Magic Lounge. This year, I’ve was honored as Guest of Honor at the International Brotherhood of Magicians convention in St. Louis, where I presented my new keynote, The Power of Magical Thinking.
