On November 1, The Power of Magical Women officially launched worldwide with a vibrant virtual celebration hosted by the Los Angeles Tribune. More than 25 magicians featured in the book joined the event, creating a joyful global gathering to kick off the release.
But magic really comes alive in person. So, I set off on a whirlwind mini tour—four stops in nine days. Every venue said yes, every audience was enthusiastic, and every stop revealed just how deeply this book resonates.
Hollywood: A Sold-Out Start
The first in-person launch took place at the legendary Magic Castle.
The evening was standing room only, and the Castle’s new owners, Randy Pitchford and Kristy Pitchford, in house.
By the end of the night, every paperback we brought was sold, and collectors eagerly snapped up the limited-edition signature books. The talk was a hit, the energy was electric, many magical women from the book were in attendance and it was the perfect launchpad for the tour.
Fresno: Signing the Magic
The next stop was quieter but just as important. In Fresno, California, I spent time personally signing all 150 copies and organizing the extra bonus gifts for the signature collector’s editions. Each book became its own little magical package before heading out to readers.
Marshall, Michigan: Houdini, Minerva, and a Few Ghosts
Stop three brought us to the enchanting American Museum of Magic (AMM)—a place packed with magical history (and possibly a few friendly ghosts).
Speaking in front of an original poster banner and the famous milk can escape apparatus of Harry Houdini, I shared the story of his remarkable rival, Minerva.
Many people know Houdini’s escapes—but Minerva’s Oak Barrel escape involved even more daring bondage. It was great fun to tell her story with Houdini seemingly watching from above.
Thanks to the AMM board and Chair Jania Taylor for organizing the evening and inviting wonderful performers to participate in the book launch talk show:
- Brynn Cummings (with her cohort Penelope)
- Lea Spade
By the end of the event, we had sold out of every paperback book we brought. Then came the adventure—leaving Marshall in a snowstorm! Fortunately, we made it safely to Chicago.
Chicago: A Magical Finale
The final stop was the spectacular Chicago Magic Lounge (CML,) a venue designed perfectly for magic.
The show was sold out, and the audience energy was fantastic. I even performed two magic pieces alongside resident magicians:
- Paige Thompson
- Abby Segal
Feeling brave, I debuted a new routine called “The Missing Piece.” To my relief—and delight—it worked perfectly!
Between the magic, the book talk, and a lively conversation with Abby and Paige, the tour ended on a wonderful high note.
Grateful for the Magic
When I began this project, I never imagined the momentum it would build. Seeing audiences connect with these stories has been deeply rewarding.
My heartfelt thanks to:
Diana Zimmerman, Gay Blackstone, Jania Taylor, Ben Barnes, and Joey Cranford—along with the many performers, technicians, and supporters who made the tour such a success.
Nine days. Four cities. Countless magical moments.
And somehow, it feels like the journey for The Power of Magical Women is only just beginning. ✨
